6 gen swap to 5.5 gen

So Im new to this forum and still trying to learn to navigate, I have been trying to find a good thread for my question but can't seem to find one, so my question is I want to swap a 6 gen motor in my 5.5 what exactly am I going to need to do this and what modifications would I have to do can I use the 5.5 ecu? what about the wire harness and will my 6mt bolt right up? What exactly would I need off the 6 gen to make it work in the 5.5. Thank you

dont listen to this guy, 7th gen motor swap is a bit more complicated and requires more things to make it run the right way. the 6th gen motor drops and bolts right in, ecu will work the exact same. You will need your upper and lower oil pan, and manifolds off the old 5.5 motor to to put on the 6th gen one, and i think thats it. And also i THINK the crank position sensor off the old motor, everything else is plug and play. its the exact same motor as the 5.5, nissan murano and nissan quest motors work as well, same harness everything bolts and plugs right back into the motor, good luck.

Upper and lower oil pan like stated above.
If you need help on how to do that check the FSM in my sig.
Learn it, love it, live it.
Good luck!!

But stuck in limp mode! MAF IAT issue once it's plugged engine will start but shutoff, but unplugged will run in limp. Many have done the 04-06 swap into 5.5, but I can't believe no threads on 07-08 swap.
Didnt Darren Surratt do a 08-09 swap? He might not be on this forum

i thought there was more involved to it than that but, i'm thinking of that one thread that got real popular on here where the guy ad to mod the wire harness and fiddle with the timing but, maybe he put in like an 08 or 09 motor or something, couldn't find the thread in my personal post history.

is the 2002 a 5.5 gen or is that 2003?

Lets not confuse the guy, 05-06 3.5 motor and you're good. Take the knock sensor, upper intake manifold and upper and lower oil pans off the motor put them on the one you're swapping in and that should be it, simple.

This swap is happening because I believe an engine replacement is needed.
There is no advantage other than a working engine when done.

I actually found a motor from an 07 with 75000 im getting it for 500 is it as easy as a 04-06 from my understanding its easier since I don't have to swap oil pans but I also don't want to be stuck in limp mode as stated above but if I used my intake manifold from the 02 that should remedy that problem right?

I was saying it should be a little easier since the oil pans are the same so what your saying is that if I was to do the 07 swap I wil be stuck in limp mode?
