Small roaches in the car, will a leaky heater core cause this?

those are stink bugs. they run rampant in virginia. i saw the pepsi vender haul a vending machine away because it was packed with them. roach bomb isnt gonna work. youre gonna have to remove everything. and dont squish any because they stink. replace the carpets and stuff

You dirty ****, how the **** you got roaches in the car??? Of all the things i have seen on this site. I bet you the roaches are the managing force in all your transmissions operations. In fact just leave the roaches alone. If you evict them they might take your driver seat with them.

Didn't even realize the op and the photo weren't the same post lol good eye. If it's roaches hit the car with Jewish lightning and get a new one. Imagine one drops on your face at Highway speed.

those things came over from asia like the Japanese beetle. they're all over north america now but especially where there's woods and a lot of rain. farmers have it the worst, read this and educate yourself george. http://www.mnn.com/your-home/at-home...-of-stink-bugs

Because of the wet carpet I assumed it's a perfect place for bugs to breathe and create. I never had them in my car till the water leak under the passenger side dash.
I bombed it 3 times and nothing works.

You sure that isn't a hole in the floor and water is splashing up into the carpet from underneath like on 2002 to 2005 altima? Does it smell like coolant? Back to original problem remove the carpeting and replace it to get rid of eggs. Also remove and clean the plastic trim moldings and if you can the center console and dash board. All it takes is 1 female to fill the whole car again. I'd even replace the headliner. Ask your insurance company if infestation is covered maybe
Once it looks nice and clean sell it on Craigslist lol

Fakie was right. Everyone's pointing to it being George's problem when it's Scott's lol. Anyway check to find the source of your leak. If you have a sunroof check there aswell as the seal at the a pillar and around the windshield, plastic cowl where the wiper arms are and see if it's sealed at the windshield and check heater core if there's coolant. Im sure it'll be one of those four. If your keeping the car after the leak is found and fixed. Take the seats and center console out and remove the carpet and see if there is any holes then clean the carpet and get rid of all that nastyness on your floor pan. Looks like you definitely have your work cut out for you. Goodluck!

B) If Scott never removed the carpet, I can believe that the insect bombs wouldn't work. If they are under the carpet, airborne chemicals won't penetrate. Remove the carpet and dry it out before mold and mildew starts growing. When you remove the carpet, washing/cleaning the carpet is excellent advice.

So I can remove and reinstall the same carpet? The drivers side is pretty beat up but that's how I bought the car, will post pics after work but it seems I'm better off getting new carpet all together.
It's a 2002 with 205k so it's gonna need some work.
Also, what's the cheapest method for ditching the precats? thinking straight pipe or something of that matter, don't want to spend that much on the car.
This weekend I'm gonna remove the seats and pull up the carpet, I'm guessing lots of mildred and other crap is gonna be under it, probably gonna have to clean the whole underneath of the carpet with some strong chemicals...

Maybe you can find a junkyard car with a carpet that is in better shape than yours.
A y-pipe from Warpspeed will not eliminate the pre-cats. I don't know if other brands are the same. You might want to consider a set of headers that will replace the stock exhaust manifolds and exhaust parts up to the main cat. But you may not consider this option cheap.

A pair of cheap headers will work but cheap header rust and smell like crap, I just want the cheapest option to getting rid of the precats. I hear precats are pretty costly and I don't want to spend that on my older car.

My guess is that they were "brought in" from the previous owner and bred in the car, eating whatever crumbs fell on the floor and such. A scenario that comes to mind would be some friends go on a road trip, one person lives in a crappy roachy apartment and brings some stowaways in their luggage. During the drive they escape and populate the vehicle behind the scenes over the course of a few years.

okay, my carpet is ripped on the driver side though so I probably need to change it.
About the precats, I want to remove them, what's the cheapest method without buying the precats? testpipe? my mechanic wants me to go straight pipe with resignator

If your really set on removing the cats which where im from is not legal but any how cut em off and weld in a piece of pipe or get new pipe ran from front to back. Get an exhaust shop with a good mandrel bender to copy your stock pipe minus the cats.

what the *** am i missing something here?? warpspeed has no precats and its 225.00 from dallas at warpspeed performance. i almost bought a cheapie ebay one but realized that it would'nt fit and my first warpspeed lasted 7 years. get with the program son.
