Maxima back bumper

I'm either going to fix the back bumper or replace it with a new one. Reason is because right corner has about 4x4 inch chipped off. I was thinking applying paste to cover it up and then spray paint it but at the same time I could replace the bumper with a better style. Does any one know where online they sell cheap and nice style bumper. otherwise any ideas of how this can be fix??

Factory replacement will probably be the best way to go. Shouldn't cost much to paint. I've had bumpers painted for around $50 a piece and the bumper itself shouldn't be too expensive.

As far as aftermarket or 'body kit' style bumpers, I'm not sure. I'm more of a purist and have never looked into that. Besides, it's all about personal preference. Find what you like, and go with it, forget what someone else's opinion is. They don't have to live with it and drive it every day, it's all you.

i can tell you right now, there's no way he's getting the bumper replaced and repainted for under 400.00. maybe maaco can rip him off with their watered down crap paint for less. body shops usually don't let you bring your own parts in unless you know them. then maybe he can get it done under the 400.00 mark i said it would be.

If you know someone who own/works in a body shop you can get great deal. I did front bumper cover on my 01 Maxima. 45 bucks for new cover and 100 bucks for paint, prep, and labor. Then when it was dry, I just swapped it on myself.

I stay as far away from Maaco as I can. I suppose it depends a lot on where you are, and yes, who you know. I didn't have any kind of prior dealings with the body shop that did mine, but I brought them a front bumper for one of my Q45's and they painted it very well for somewhere around $50 might have been $60 or something inconsequential like that. They got all my body work business after that.

At the same time, my brother was quoted almost $800 to repaint the front bumper on his 09 Matrix a few months ago.

Wow I don't know how anyone could get a bumper painted for $50-$100. When you think about it -- prep (even a brand new bumper needs prep), prime, paint, clear. That is one hell of a deal if they did a good job.

Well I'm definitely not going to an expensive body shop. I was thinking maybe buy a nice body kit for just the bumper and on my own I can find someone who can do it cheap. I seen some in carid.com but maybe there are better ones and maybe cheap ones online?? Any one know of them?

I think "nice body kit" is an oxymoron for these cars. The best look IMO is a standard bumpers with a Stillen front and rear lip. Everything else seems to be high on the cheese factor.
