Emissions Warranty under 80k (Catalytic converter)

I have a 2000 maxima with 70k miles that has a bad Catalytic converter. I heard a Federal warranty of under 80K miles exist. If so, will Nissan honor this warranty with ease?

Fed warranty is 8 years or 80K miles. So for any car over 8 years old, like yours, no.

It says OR..so I don't think the age matters as long it is under 80k

8 years old, or 80K. What ever happens first. The car may have less than 80K on it, but it is over 8 years old now.

Yea, it's always whichever comes first. You have to think, there are cars that are nearly 25 years old now that still have less than 80k, but it's a bit much to ask a company to work on a car at their loss when the warranty would have exhausted 17 years earlier.

So it's always the one that comes first.
