I just bought my SE, it's still on stock tires, apparently stock wheels, as far as I can see the only mod is an aftermarket exhaust tip... It's probably a while till I get to it but where is the best starting point to bring up the power? My final target is 350hp with a single turbo, so probably strengthening the engine is important...
So bottom line, where is the stock engine lacking.

NWP engineering has some good stuff

cattman performance also does

there is a guy in the SL valley that had a SC kit a while back he was thinking about selling, ill have to get his number if you really want it. would be some good gains if its cheap enough.

hope to see you around, im also in the salt lake area, Taylorsville to be exact

Sounds good

Let me know if you get a price tag, some idiot spray painted the bumpers, the bodywork and paint come first but performance is next

Welcome to the forum. Those bumpers look terrible. I hope you can somehow clean up this paint. If I were you, I would start with some bolt-ons and then decide on the turbo.

K.i.s.s.

My father always told me K.I.S.S. Or Keep It Simple Stupid. lol, when I get a new car, I always like to start with the simple stuff first, assuming you didn't do any of it already, oil change, spark plugs, air filter, pcv valve, fuel filter(nissan says there's are good for the life of the car, but, who knows how the person treated it before you got it), and cleaning out the throttle body. Now I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for and its not going to give you massive increases(or maybe no increase) in HP, but it may give you better efficiency and you may gain back some of the HP that was "lost" due to poor maintenance from the previous owner. Now as far as whats next? Well, that would be determined by your budget. There is a post on the nicoclub website where some people have talked about this as well:

http://forums.nicoclub.com/superchar...s-t347328.html

And this site as well:

http://www.ehow.com/about_6627035_ma...bocharged.html

But all in all, I would say it all boils down to your budget.

00 se

First thing is safety before speed. Most of the car with 300 HP up , manufacturer make them in all wheel drive or rear drive for safety, stability and law of physics.

I bought a 2002 Maxima SE, stock with 104,000 miles for the amount $4000.00 in New Jersey.

I replace the ffing for stability, safety and maintenance: Spend ($5000.00 for labor and alll OEM parts)

Front Struts, all hardware exept coil spring (I should replace it with coil over)
Front Caliper, Rotor, Brake Pads (I shoud replace it with 6th Gen)
Sway Bar Bushing (SES)
Stabilizer Link
Install Front Strut tower Bar
Rear Struts (illumina)
Rear Rotor, caliper, brake pads (old one is stuck up)
Install Rear Sway Bar
Ignition Coil 1,3,5 , all spark plugs, rear valve cover , intake manifold gasket(I did it myself)
Fuel Filter (I did it myself)
Oil pan and transmission pan (replace with OE Amsoil ATF)
Camshaft and crankshaft position sensor.
Knock sensor
Radiator (Aftermarket OEM)
Instal; ADD W1 PCV Oil Catcher
Install NWP Block Plate
Engine Mounts (all)
Future plan: Install cattman headers erfect fit, not available, OBX : not a perfect fit to VQ35DE
or Y-pipe gut the catalytic converter and install O2 nonfouler
Install NWP 75 mm wide bore Throttle Body
I owned a 2007 Toyota Camry with 50,000 miles at present, I just drive it. When I bought this Maxima 2002 I love and enjoy driving it on the road.

Like mazda626 said, your budget is a big factor.
When i got my max the first thing i did was have the windows tinted. then got a CAI. You could make your own intake out of some PVC piping and some other fittings. Theres a few how-to threads out there you can use.
Do a 100K service. You shouldn't need to get coils unless you think theres a problem with them. Also have someone shake down the front end and check for bad suspension parts, worn bushings ect.
Welcome to the forum. Theres loads of good stuff on here to help you out.
Happy Modding!

All good point, as to how bad the bumpers look... Thats the only logical reason I have for the price I paid... I've had my mechanic, a DSM guy, look it over and drive it, basic maintenence is first, it's due for oil for sure, then paint and body work... Mostly I wanna know how much to aim for in my performance budget...
I greatly appreciate all the input guys, I'm off to the DMV to get registered

Haha, I cant blame you on that... I think a suspension overhaul will come before I go as far as a supercharger... Handling is key in my book, although I'm curious about how your car sounds now

Research the info in here until your eyes bleed, then, dry them off and do it again.

Your questions have been answered before, you just need to find the answer, but first, you need to actually find out what you're trying to ask first.
