Ok I have hit a wall. I have had no luck with my 02 se maxima with hollowed cats. The car will not rev over 2500 rpm. ive replaced the maf, the cam and crank sensors and still nothing has changed. I broke down and called a garage Nissan specialty shop and they told me my car is in safe mode. has anyone had this issue before. I think I may be having an issue with the intake plenum but im not sure the power valve is working but it is noisy sounds like there is almost a grinding noise coming from it. I can usually figure out any problem with any car but this has me stumped. Im having my car hauled into his shop in the morning. has anyone else had this issue before if so what is the resolution?
My maxima has 174k miles on it 35.L 6 speed tranny.
I also have a 1996 maxima se with a s speed with minor upgrades to the suspension and short shifter. with 350z rims on it. I just bought the 2002 about a month ago. Looking forward to hearing any and all imput . I live in the Port Richey florida area.
