Any Way To Open A Car Window With No Power?

I have a 2003 Maxima. I bought a front passenger door off an 02 Maxima. When i bought it, the window was already up. I need to put the window down in order to take off a trim piece from the window. I tried hooking up the 02 door to my 03. it fit and everything, but the window function will not work. it works on all 3 other windows but not the window on the 02 door that was installed. The door light & lock work on the 02 door after install, just not the window. I thought maybe it was a bad window switch so i went to install the window switch from my 03 door onto the 02 door. When i looked @ the harnesses from the 03 & 02, they are different. The 02 has 2 harnesses (1 for the lock & 1 for the window) while the 03 has 1 harness for both. My question is: Is there anyway to get the window down on the 02 door (door is currently installed on car now)? Is there any fail safe to open a window that has no power? Thanks for any help!

I do not know a failsafe. But there is a rest button to set the auto open/close...

Here is a good video that shows you how to dig into the window. I thought I had to replace my window motor but once I got inside- I learned it was just gunk that clogged the tract.

you can unplug the switch harness and pin out power to the window motor directly from the battery, thats about it

Problem Solved!

Thanks for the video. After watching about half of it, i saw how he unbolted the regulator from the window. Even though the window was fully up, i was able to squeeze my hand in there & undo the 2 bolts holding the glass in.Once this was done, it was a breeze to take the window out. Thanks again for the video!

That's exactly what i ended up doing. Since the window was all the way up, it was kinda a b*tch to get to the bolts, but once i got them off it was a piece of cake. Thanks for the info!

As you found out, the wire harnesses are different for the 2 years. It also means tat the switches are different, too.

You will need to swap the switch and wire harnesses from the old 2003 door in order to get the window to work.
