Types of Sparkplugs for VQ35DE


Spark plug (Platinum-tipped type):
Make NGK
Standard type PLFR5A-11
Hot type PLFR4A-11
Cold type PLFR6A-11

Use standard type spark plug for normal condition.
The hot type spark plug is suitable when fouling may occur with the
standard type spark plug such as:
I frequent engine starts
I low ambient temperatures
The cold type spark plug is suitable when spark knock may occur
with the standard type spark plug such as:
I extended highway driving
I frequent high engine revolution
Gap (Nominal): 1.1 mm (0.043 in)
: 20 - 29 N·m (2.0 - 3.0 kg-m, 14 - 22 ft-lb

So will NGK Iridiums be good for this engine also? Saw a set on ebay part # LFR5AIX11 for a good price. Its pretty hot here and i do a mix of city and highway driving so im thinking i may need a cold plug.

NGK is the best for this car. It's what is OEM.

I use what you have posted there. Have for the past 60k miles.

Outside temperature doesn't determine if you need a colder plug. You might need a colder plug if you were towing a loaded trailer, which is putting a heavier workload on the engine. Standard plugs are fine otherwise.
