What exactly needs to be modified on pre2k2 KYB's to fit 2k+?

If i understood correctly there is no direct fit replacement for the stock shocks for the 2k+ from KYB thus the minor modification of the pre-2k+.

If this is the case, what exactly was modified? Is it a tedious modification or a "turn the bolt a little" sort of thing?

Thanks.

I know the front strut mount is slightly different.... and the KYBs themselves needed a bit of machine work... e-mail Brian at Cattman and I am sure he'll give you more details

Yeah I asked this like 4times, but never got an asnwer.

My thing is what I STILL dont understand is how the GC Coilovers are made for a 4th gen yet they can fit a 5th gen. So if the coilovers fit, why wont the 4th gen KYB AGX struts fit also? I just wanted to know exactly WHAT needed to be modified to fit.

The ground controls have spring's and shocks together right? If that's the case the shocks did not have to be made fit either the 4th or 5th gen springs, know what I am saying?

No, just the spring and adjustable sleeve that goes over whatever shock that the person uses.

NOW I GET IT. Damn, that rights you can put the GCs on your stock struts if you wanted.

So either the top or the bottom bottom of the struts needs to be modified. I am pretty sure it is the bottom of the strut where it mounts to the Control arm.
