help with problem since led install please help!
I decided to take on the job of doing the window switches to blue leds. Figuring it was my first time I did the rears first since I heard it was easier. Started with the drivers side and everything went smoothly. Nice blue led beautiful look so I put it all together. Then I moved too the passenger side and everything went downhill. When I went too put the switch on it looked nice but accidentally hit the positive with negative. Fuse blew and I replaced it. But now both side leds are extremely faint and my rear Windows won't go down or my passenger side front window. But my drivers side window and sunroof works. Really need the help, thanks in advance.
And just an FYI.. The master looks like this on the inside and is 20000x more difficult to work with than than the other switches ..
Im all for DIY! But maybe you should look into someone else doing them for you? First things first though.. get them all working again. Id get another master control switch to start with.
search it
Simple there is a search button up top
Use it and your question will most likely come up
Diy is fun but you need to be prepared and knowledgable abouy the situation.
Just use the search button
Good luck

no they don't.
I have NEVER put resistors in any window switches, never needed to. 4th gen or 5th gen, they're LED already, we're just changing from LED to LED. NO RESISTOR NEEDED.
I think I told you this when you PMed me. I also linked you to a thread that gave DIY instructions for you, and those DIY instructions had NO resistor.
best guess from the information in this thread is you accidentally bridged some of the legs somehow when you used the unneeded resistor. Since we have no idea how you routed your resistor, get spares from a junkyard and go back to stock on the ones you played with, ok? Then when you're back to stock and verified everything works again, either try your LEDs again or send them to someone who will do them for you.

mines did have resistors in the rear and shinjiduo is going to do all my switches and and hvac after i get my master switch. but when i sent him a picture and i looked it up he said i have 6th gen master switches. btw i appreciate the write up link you sent me

You DO NOT have 6th gen switches in your 5th gen they would never work without changing the BCM and almost all the door wiring.i have done dozens of switches 4th and 5th gen and even did a writeup on here with pictures.you DO NOT know what you are looking at you dont understand what your doing. And btw there is 3 types of 5th and 5.5 gen master switches and unhooking the battery has nothing to do with anything.

all the research ive done says this is a 6th gen window switch. i seen a couple different 2000-2003 window switches but they didnt look like this. it looks exactly the like the one i have. mine is pictured below. At this point one of us is wrong.

Look Familiar? They also have the exact same circuit board internally as well.

You missed the whole "I've done the swap" line, didn't you? I do LED mods all the time and because 6th gen switches for a while had been both more plentiful and cheaper than 5.5 gen switches that look like yours I would get those instead of paying $80 to $100 on a master. Now they do have 5.5 gen switches that look like 5th gen switches that are indeed wired differently but the ones that look like 6th Gen switches are indeed 6th gen switches with green LEDs instead of orange LEDs. I would imagine Nissan felt it was cheaper to go ahead and transition to the new switches instead of staying with the old 5.5 gen switches back in 03". I assure you on 7 different occasions I have done this swap and every time it works, with no modifications.
Looking up part numbers, the dates indicate the master switch usage overlapped 5th & 6th gen.
part # 25401-7Y010 was used from Jan 2003 through Aug 2005.
Looking at the wire harness, part number 24125-6Y303 is the only one listed for the 2003 model.
