2001 Maxima brake noise/and other weird noise
Information on car: 2001 Maxima SE with manual transmission. Brand new clutch replaced in Sep. 2013 with exedy oem. Brake pads changed and front rotors resurfaced Sep. 2013 as well.
Okay, so let's start off with this weird noise that has been going on in my car for about 3 months. More or less. Whenever I'm accelerating at about 20-25mph in second gear the car makes a weird metal on metal scraping noise for only a split second. It does this noise in 3rd gear as well around the same MPH range. The manual gear oil was changed with amsoil synthetic when clutch was changed. I'm not sure what this noise is cause my tranny is fine. No grinding no noise no slipping no anything. I'm just scared I might need a new tranny or something. My friend said it sounding like a metal to metal scraping brake noise. But its just SOOOO WEIRD that it ONLY happens in the 20-30 mph range in second and third gear. I sometimes hear it in the highway for a split second too. Anyone have any similar noise?
Also, recently my brakes have started to make a noise. It started with a little squeal when coming to a stop and noise its a noise that either goes faster or slower depending on speed. and only when I'm depressing the brake. Like I mentioned earlier the pads were changed and i checked them out and they look fine. The rotors look fine too. But maybe the rotors are slightly warped and i cant notice it. The other option is that maybe the calipers are getting stuck or something like that.
Any Ideas or comments would be nice. Thanks!
