Turn only the fog light on?

I have seen over and over people have only their dogs on and I have not been able to figure out how to do it. I have read bits and pieces of how to do it but have not gathered enough info to clearly understand how to do it. Someone who has done it able to help? Thanks a lot, my ride is a stock AE

Will this still allow me to turn on my headlights whenever I want or does it mean that with this mod, I can only have either fogs or high beams on

Yes the fogs will work independent of the headlights, and the headlight operation is unchanged

Do I need to disconnect power or anything before I splice?

Although in this case since it is a small job, disconnecting the battery is not completely necessary, but you should always get into the habit of disconnecting it whenever electrical work takes place just as a precaution. Since you will NOT be working on the wire splicing with the headlights on, it should be ok in this case to forgo the disconnection of the battery.

If I splice the fog into the tail light wire, and the only way the tail light comes on is when it's in the park light position, how does that work?

Double check your wiring.

Do you mean the brake lights no longer come on? You blew the brake light fuse...you need to change it out for one higher fuse. Example, 10A to 15A.

If you did this mod correctly, the fogs will turn on with the parking lights, and headlights.

THIS ONE will let you do the fogs completely independent...so nothing but the fogs will be on if you so choose.

^^ that will work on your AE

I haven't cut anything yet, I wanted more information before I actually did it.and also, I read this mod, will it mess with the ac at all?

Just did this mod a couple of weeks ago...pretty str8 forward, and you can run the fogs independently of the parking lights. In my case it's pretty bright even to the point where running the fogs by themselves are extremely bright with the 6k HIDs....just follow the shiftice.com instructions and you'll be fine

Good luck with this mod, I love it so far!

Hmm I almost did it but as I was driving home from radio shack I was thinking, to have the tail lights on I need to turn the park lights on, and wiringing the fogs into the tail lights will mean that the park lights will come on also, right? If it doesn't, why?

Ok, maybe i'm misunderstanding what you're trying to do but here I turned the parking light switch on with the fogs off:

Is this what you talking about?

Not really, we'll kinda, here, how do you turn the fogs on? Just the regular position? Can you show me what setting you have to have just the fogs? And which rewiring method did you use

Before you start doing anything, what year is you car?

The wire colors are not the same on all years, so if you follow a procedure for another year than what your car is, it won't work and could possibly cause short circuits.

Mine is the AE model 2001, I know I have to splice the yellow into the pink but it just doesn't make sense when I thought about the connection

Okay, it seems like my previous speculations were right, in this picture,http://www.shiftice.com/images/corporate/IMG_2574.jpg, which was the model car on the shiftice rewire mod, it looks like the park lights are on along with the fogs.

Use the link I provided to get the fogs to work completely independent.

The ac cable is too short for me to get a good enough splice on it, what can I do?

Use another piece of wire as an extension.
