02 Camshaft Positioning Sensor

Would a malfunctioning Camshaft Positioning Sensor cause my car to intermittently stall at idle and stumble at normal speeds?

Also, where is the #2 cylinder? Gotta change the coil pack on it. Thanks

I would say yes bc It did for me. It kept stalling. I had to change out both camshaft sensors. Cylinder 2 is in the front of the car first one on the left by the wiper fluid.

If you looking at the engine from the front of the car it goes:

1---3---5
2---4---6

Ideally you need to replace both 1. camshaft sensor : one near the radiator
one near the firewall
2. crankshaft sensor

You need to replace it with OEM Genuine nissan parts at any dealership or
Courtesyparts.com or OEM aftermarket parts at Rockauto. Do not replace it with aftermarket parts of autozone, pepboys, ebay or online, it will erase the code but the problem will persist.

Thanks guys. My car is stumbling and trying to quit quite often now, and it's actually stalled at 35 mph several times today. It will stall quite often at idle. I'll get that sensor replaced.

Had these issues few months back. Had to get them from stealership at 115 a piece. Crazy money to pay for five minutes of work.

Which sensor is it? Do you have a code or just going by the stumbling.

FYI: I have a brand new, never installed, oem nissan cps for the rear side/ right side of the engine. The plug angles are different between them. $100 shipped.
