Urgent: Need suspension help

I needed to replace my rear shocks so I read Shift Ice write-up (thank you). In my case the car was previously lowered (Eibach Pros) but on the original shocks. I ordered which I hope are the correct Tokico Illuminas shocks (had a very hard time finding the right one) but the guys claimed the part is HU2943. The dimensions look the same (overall length, length to perch, to bump rest, etc.). Now that I'm putting the spring on the Tokico, with the bottom of the spring resting on the perch, the Bound Bumper cover is not making contact with the spring. I've completely removed the spring compressor and still too much of a gap. This means I can't tighten the top nut (needs the spring to put tension on the piston to hold it in place). I can't put pliers on the piston or I risk damaging it. So I'm stuck. Any ideas here? Do I have the wrong Tokico?

Thanks, I've posted there hopefully I get an answer soon. I resolved my problem with the spring not being tight - I didn't cut the bumper (I thought it was optional) and I added isolators top and bottom. Spring is now tight but now I have a new problem. I can't get the lower mounting bolt for the shock in place. The shock hangs about an inch lower than the mounting point. I tried a jack to lift it into place but the angle causes everything to slip too easily.

Found an answer. I didn't have both sides of the car jacked up but when I did the axle dropped almost enough. A bottle jack under the shock gave it the last little bit and I was able to get the bolt in place. Thanks for the help. This board is the greatest.
