What is the best intake I can get for my 5.5 gen?
I'd have to save$1900 to fix my oil leaks too.

But let's say I did fix them, how hard are they to install?

JWT pop charger or Ghetto airbox drill 4 holes (1inch diameter on top of air filter holder). Use K& N filter. Headers if you can get a cattman, OBX have fitting issues. The cheapest way is to gut both precat, install a ypipe (warspeed or cattman)and 02 nonfouler to the two secondary O2 sensor.
This is just from my experience, which doesn't span very far.
The “best” intake for the budget enthusiast is a GAB. 9whp, proven by multiple members.
The “best” intake for those who do not want to hack their own stuff is the JWT POP, or some variation of a large area filter and velocity stack.
The “best” intake for those who don’t really care about spending time and money on their car is a 4” with a JWT style at the end of it. But as has been stated before, and is alos found in the sticky’s in the AM forum, requires larger injectors and no, not
Z33 injectors, more like 440 or 550 injectors with a 4” intake of your choice. Doug’s, www.siliconeintakes.com coupled with the 100mm MAF housing from eBay. But no, that’s not it, if you spent the time to research, you wouldn’t be asking such question and would know that you also need a MAF scaler, again, it’s up to your pocket, but an AFC does well, coupled that with the fact that you also need a WB. The former also has to be familiar with the user before one actually begins using it, i.e, what settings should be used, and I mean set-up settings, the simple items, and then where the AFR should be where it shouldn’t be, etc.
I would leave links, but I’m not convinced you would actually read them.

Filter is 35$, stack is 50$, and a MAF adapter I'd say in the 20-30$ range. In the end, you're getting a JWT POP Charger, that's plastic. Just get an actual JWT if you're in the mid-grade section above, it also comes with a bracket.

does this come with everything I need or just the filter and stack ,-,
That's everything you need.
IMO, a heat shield is not needed. Once you begin moving at say 20-25MPH or so, IAT's drop to a reasonable level. Couple that with the fact that this FWD VQ is just notorious for fairly annoying heat soak as are other Al IM VQ's.
What I just said in short, heat shields are overrated.

Are there not many users with...say a BPi velocity stack coupled to a dryflow filter. Iv had them all in the past (GAB, jwt, injen lolz) What i have now is my favorite of all.
Its a 3 inch bpi stack and a 6 inch mouth aem dryflow. plenty other threads on others forums of the bpi vs blox/generic velocity stacks. Bpi FTW!

I base my favorites off of numbers, and the JWT w/ 3" housing/tubing gave the best results. Didn't get quite the same #'s with the 3.5" BPi.
Haven't dyno'd the 4" yet though.
In any case, the decision isn't that hard and has been covered ten fold.

^^ I don't think it's better than the JWT, just comes out to be way cheaper and I'm pretty sure it's not any worse than the JWT setup. The AEM dryflow filter is definitely better than whatever comes with the JWT package.
Advantage of JWT is that the stack itself is also the MAF adapter so you end up having a nice MAF adapter instead of having to buy one.
Velocity Stack + AEM Dryflow = roughly $60
JWT Popcharger = $100-150 depending on where you buy
^^ Also for the filter, you don't want the one in that link you posted. You want the AEM Part#21-209DBF for a velocity stack, it has a 6" inlet and is about 5-6" tall I think. It comes in red and grey colors:
