Hey all I have decided I wanted to do a system in my 2k2 maxima..
Anyways talking to a few people about this.. Made me want to decide ..

I want the Rockford Fosgate 1500BD AMP

but i cant decide on the subwoofers.. I want two 12's
My choices In mind were the HX2's which can hold up to about 1000watts a piece.. or the Power series 12's .. I am going to do a Fiberglass box with custom amp racks etc.. Please let me know what you guys think on this setup.. and which of the 2 subs would you prefer..

good luck with w6's, but you might want to look at the w3's. and if you got the bank and don't mind the weight ... w7's. There are other good subs out there, but post this on the audio forum. you will get more help there.

Maybe its time to leave NJ.

Any reason you went from IS300 to a 2k2 Max?
The RF's HX2 are purely (IMHO) for high dB's, not as much for SQ.

If you want SQ, look at the JL's. JL W3 and the W7's.

I have listen to the Kicker L7's and am not that impressed at all.

I use to do a lot of custom audio installs (certified for custom emclosures) and JL's were very popular for having great SQ & still able to hit very high dB's on compitition. RF's are just plan nasty (as in brutal).

Well The IS 300 wasn't all that Quick.. and the Maxima is a lot

faster... And More room.. And I felt like my IS 300 was Fragile

like I was going to brake it .. The Kit was Fiberglass very easy to

break. Don't Get me wrong it was a nice car.. But I love my Maxima.

Parts are cheaper now.. and Nissan service people are nicer.. And of

course all you Nissan owners are hell of a lot nicer than those

snobby stuck up LEXUS boys.. LOL.. anyways we won't get into that.

But Which Subwoofers do you think will hit hard but yet sound clear.

and a decent price.. I had the 15W3's in my IS 300 .. I liked them..

I know for sure I want the Rockford Fosgate 1500BD amp... well let me know.

I would go with Image Dynamic's IDMAX12's. I was just reading an article about them in "Car Stereo Reviews Mobile Entertainment" and the writer of the article said that they were the best subs that he has heard. They are a little pricey at $450 each (retail).

Well, I couldn't really find any good sites on these subs, but here is a little bit about them in the magazine that I was talking about.

http://www.m-emag.com/columns/columns.html?columnID=68

If you go to your local bookstore you could probably take a look at the article, I'm pretty sure that it was the February issue.

Move to NJ.

Anyways, from my experiences, ID are great subs. They are very clean sounding. THey can provide some hard hitting bass.

I also like MMats subs. They are just plain loud.

I think JL's might be your best bet for loud dB's & great SQ.

I have also gotten a few chances to play with the Xtant subs. They are very very clean & provide great hard hitting bass.

There are many subs. When you listen to themin a room, it will sound different vs inside a car. The cabin in a car is waaay smaller, therefore sounding louder.

For any amps, i would consider a 1 channel amp. I would even consider using a cheater amp if you want multiple subs.

Here are a couple of sites that have a lot of reviews on stereo equipment.

http://www.elitecaraudio.com/home/html/
http://www.termpro.com/

I'd probably get 1 phoenix gold zpa 0.5 per sub. But if u were looking for spl, then I'd probably get a crossfire bfd1000. I forgot the model number on the crossfire, but it's somethin like that.

I remember when I graduated back in 91...I migth have got a couple of hundred bucks....but NO DAMN CAR! It would probably help if I had GPA higher than 1.7!!!

Well...anyways! Congrats on the new car! I am glad to hear that you like it better than the is300.

Since the org is looking for donations....how about raffle off a date with Justina! j/k

Rainbow makes really really good components. On a less expensive scale, "Car Stereo Reviews Mobile Entertainment" did a review of 3 different component sets in their February issue. One of them was Diamond.... the other were made by Kicker, and the third was made by I think MB Quart. The Diamond components were about $150 or so less than the other two, and they came out with the best rating.
