Alternator croaked with no warning?
Alternator croaked with no warning?
I was parking and my car just died and the battery was dead at the same time so I'm guessing I need a new alternator? Of course we do not have a battery gauge but no lights ever illuminated on the dash to let me know. Off to the mechanic to get it tested.
go to autozone and get a remanufacture one, it will be around 130-250 depending if its new or remanufactured. Hitachi? it will be on the side of the alt. I had an issue with an Alt from Pepboys, brand new not reman and had to replace it 3 times and 2 stores in 2 days. Had to work with the manager to get a remanufactured one that actually works. God luck

Mine did this three times... Original just died in the middle of a freaken snow storm, second one died at home & then the third one died. The fourth one the mechanic used a different brand and so far so good
No signs of death all three times...
