Hey guys, I have a small issue. I replace my outer tie rods a couple weeks ago. I noticed the driver side jam nut is seized to the inner tie rod. I just replace my tires and I cannot get an alignment on that wheel since the nut won't spin.

I tried tons of PB and a benzomatic. Any other ideas?

dremel the nut out, heat, or replace the inner and out again

 

Is the heat from the benzomatic enough heat? The other options you listed are more of a last resort for me.

 

If you can get the outer tie rod off, you should be able to get a nut splitter onto that nut. Can find them at sears or auto parts stores.

Are you sure? That would really suck! Maybe I should just find someone with a real torch.

 

I would just replace both... saves time.. you can rent the tool to remove the inner one from Autozone, but thats just me

 

Ok I decided to do this. I have not done an inner tie rod before. I read the autozone tool doesn't always fit perfectly. Anyone have recent experience?

Any tips for the job? Should I replace the boot too? I just put the tool on and twist it off and then twist the new one on with a drop of blue Loctite right? I don't want any surprises.
