You don't have one on your car. The IACV was used on the 3.0 engine, and discontinued for the 3.5 engine.

Why did you think you needed this?

it part of the throttle body unit so sadly to say if you have a problem with the idle then the whole throttle body need to be replace and reprogram for the relearn procedure

I think i need it because when its cold out sometimes my car dosent idle properly but some times it does and when i say bit properly i mean like the rpms go up and down. Also after lets say driving for a bit and the engine is warm and i park it. Then go back to it after 10 mins while its still warm and start it up the rpms will go from 800 to 300 then back to 650. I dont think it should be doing that. What could the problem be? I just got a parts maxima so i have the parts and im 90% sure the parts are good. So i just need help figuring out what needs replacing and where its located.

Thanks for your reply guys!

Nothing needs replaced except for maybe the MAF. Spray out the TB (don't move the butterfly valve) and reset idle, then move on if that doesn't work.

Te butterfly valve is the one that moves when the car is given throttle right? How would i get it inside without moving the butterfly valve? Also how is the ifle to be reset? Any instructions would be great. After cleaning the th and resetting the idle if it still does it. Its probably the MAF

Thanks for all your help!

Service Engine light 2003 Maxima SE

My first time on the forum and looking for some help. I have a 2003 Nissan maxima SE that runs great up to 2500 RPM's but cuts out at that point. In park if you rev the car and hold it @ 2500 RPMs it the idle just bounces from 2000-2500. The SES light will not reset or blink and is throwing a 0650 code for defective indicator lamp.
I took it to a local Nissan dealership for diagnostics ($100/hour) and they determined that it had a defective instrument cluster. I replaced it and had the exact same results (even the SES light) so I put the original back in.
I pulled the ecu and sent out for rebuild. Came back and I installed it, fired up the car and it ran great! The SES light never shut off but it ran great at all RPMs. 2 weeks later....I'm back to square 1. Its cutting out @ 2500 RPM.

Any suggestions?

A bad maf wont let your car rev pass 2500rpm. Mine wasnt as bad but gave me idle issues. When i took it off my parts car and started the parts car without a maf it wouldnt rev past 2500. I would suggest you change your maf. Its pretty much dead. That should fix your problem.

Good Luck!
