Obscure feature I found out about our max

Might be common knowledge but when you hold the unlock button on your keyfob for more than 3 seconds your windows roll down. The only way to roll them up outside the car is by inserting the key in the door and holding toward the lock direction for a few seconds.....try it and see

Are there any other features that you can mention that might not be known to the naked eye of 5th gen maxima owners? Please share

yes if you hold both lock and unlock for 3 plus seconds you can make ur car slient on locking and not sound the horn only flash lights. turn it back on or off same way.

i think it is outlined in the owners manual thought so not so obscure

True that. I think on 99,00, and 01 you can not roll down the windows with the remote at all.

The part about the windows does not apply to the 2000 & 2001.

But the part about the lock & unlock buttons on the keyfob applies to all 5th gens. It is molded into the back of the keyfobs (at least it is on mine).

I got all excited about the windows, and then read it wasn't for 00-01.

i wonder what causes that maybe a small tweak to the wiring can make that work? likely much more complicated than that.

The windows down feature is contained in the microprocessor program of the BCM and window switches. I don't think there is any extra wires needed.

So does anyone know how to make this work on a 2001? Do we just need the 02-03 window switches?

Point is you can't get it to work like OEM.
If you read you would have seen that it was discussed the switches and BCM play a role.

If you want it that bad buy an aftermarket alarm that offers those features..Just make sure you READ so you don't get the wrong one.

Correct. And be wary on rainy days and when wearing tight pants!

Also! something I have not seen mentioned. You can time the release of the keyfob on the windows so that the window doesn't go down much. In case you might be worried about security.

Gotcha, I thought you meant there was a setting to only let the windows go so far down when holding the unlock button.
