I have a 2000 Maxima engine (Cali spec) and want to install it into a 2001. Is there anything I should swap over. EGR? ?

 

make sure it is a vq35de, if so it should be a direct staight through process.

No EGR. I think the is a block plate on it on a 2k1. From what I understand some 2k1's have EGR and some don't so check the vin.

 

I guess no reason to use the block off plate, because the 2001 is not looking for the EGR system anyway.

 

If it's a late model 2000 cali-spec like mine, then it's a 100% direct swap. Everything is identical and no EGR.

EGR was there on early 2000's but then gone for late 2k and all 2001's.

Funny thing is my car actually still has the EGR PID's on the scanner, yet has no EGR. I guess they couldn't remove the EGR from computer in time before 2001 came around lolz
