Faulty IACV?

Hi, my Maxima keeps fighting for euthanasia, but I won't let it go!

It's latest symptom is that sometimes (maybe every 2nd day or so), when idling, the revs drop suddenly. It doesn't stall, and quickly recovers. It might do it a couple of times within 5 -10 seconds, and then not again for a couple of days.

No problems with normal driving, only happens at idle.

Shouldn't be the coil packs (replaced those about 30k ago), so I'm guessing the IACV - sound reasonable? Anything else that could cause that?

Thanks for any ideas.

Hi,
What year Max? I can maybe help if it is a 2001. It does make a difference because you have a voltage problem. You can guess at IACV or maybe TPS or maybe motor mounts or by-pass of IACV issues. It is all here. Along with you have a bad batch of fuel.

Faulty IACV

Hi, the year is 2000, so should be same as 2001.

It's definitely not motor mounts, I swapped these out recently for non electronic. Also can't be bad fuel, has been doing it now for a few months.

Remove the tb and iacv clean them really good ,and you should be ok proly...

Check your grounds by the oil fill hole...
I added a catch can to the pcv sys on mine a few weeks ago and EVERYONE Should TOO!(I've been intercepting about 1oz of oil every 25-30 mi to me thats alarming,,,btw a iacv code popped up it should be unrelated but who knows.
