Dimming Instrument panel/ Headlights

Looking for answers,
I have a 2001 Nissan Maxima and recently both my instrument panel and headlights started to dim when the car is on, what could be the issue? wiring in general or the instrument cluster? Please help

It could be a bad ground, weak battery or failing alternator. Look there first.

is the dimming intermittent, or does it occur and stay dimmed?

Check in this order...

1. Battery
2. Alternator
3. Grounds

is mostly the Alternator going.... check the charge at the battery terminal. It should read close to 14v, then you should be ok.... anything closer to 12 .9 is bad
