Isn't the automatic climate control BELOW the bose head unit?

george_ he has the factory Navigation which controls the ac and heat controls within. Underneath it would be the bose cd player and the audio controls for it if im not mistaken. Replacing that may be a pita. Good Luck!

for reference..
If the only thing working is the cassette player? im not sure if a cd changer was an option? Lets start with whats not working. Replacing this may be a challenge...(if you are willing to keep an "in glove box" stereo thats an option to consider.

Oh was that like a US only option?

What about ripping all that out then installing aftermarket din and OEM automatic climate control?

It is not recommended to try to replace the factory Nav unit. HVAC is entirely too integrated. Wire harnesses are completely different. I have yet to see a single person who has successfully done it and gotten every function of HVAC properly working.

sorry to post a side question: i have a stock non-bose 03 head unit with an extra empty plug in the back. i do not have a cd changer button, so what is this plug for.

(Bottom right plug in cluster)

If you had a CD changer, you'd have that harness/missing plug.

I hope that's not a picture of your actual HU and you chopped the harnesses off.

no its just a stock one i found online. so the plug was put on all CD chg and non-CD chg HU. so essentially, mine will not do anything, or have anyway to access it

Correct. Cheaper to make one version of the HU capable of multiple options.
