Cone Intake Installed ... My FeedBack

Alright ... after having a Difficult time of separating the MAF sensor from the Black Rubber Seal, my Cone Intake has been Installed.

My Feedback

1) I DO NOT feel any Loss of Low End Torque like everyone has said.
2) No Check Engine Light (Knock on Wood)
3) I love that powerful Sucking Sound the Intake makes.
4) Definite Better Pull across the powerband. (ButtDyno)
5) Even better pull at Higher RPMs.

10 min's after I installed the Intake ... I was able to find someone to play with.

Found myself a Modified Integra on the Highway ... from a Rolling 120KM's he was beside me ... as soon as I saw him Lurch Forward to attempt a Pass ... it was on ... At about 150 He slowed back down, I had about Half a Car Length.

I slow back down to about 100KMs ... He tries another Attempt ... at 160 I had about slightly less than 1 car Length.

Note: I'm a AutoMagic ... and it looked like an Integra GSR. but Modified.

I actually noticed a increase in milege with the intake. It's a Matrix Cone intake he has with a adapter.

Give it a week empz, it will adjust better and your car will feel even more alive.

Empz,

I know in the past you had an OSCAI setup. Is this difference you feel in comparison to the OSCAI, or did you go back to stock first? If so, why?

I’m pretty happy with my OSCAI, but always on the lookout for more ponies.

Thanks.

OSCAI

This one has me stumped. And I've been on this board a long time. What the hell is a OSCAI? I got the CAI part but OS?

It depends on the type of filter you use. It seems people with the JWT and Stillen ones have this problem. But these type of filters with the opening on the end do not show the loss.

Could the no-loss be because it's the cold season? How much better would it work during summer when the hood is just heated up both by ambient and radiant energy?

I believe, but could be wrong, is that its a OutSideColdAirInduction unit. Because it does not obtain air from within the engine bay.

OK Colonel but the stock system does that. So there must be a bit more to the OSCAI setup. Anybody with a pic to share w/me?

Actually OSCAI stands for "OOooooglie (Ugly) Stock Cold Air Intake"

Word was termed that since it was the Ghetto way of doing a cold air intake by still using a stock air box. For info on this, you want to check my homepage and check it out there for pics of my OSCAI install.

http://bigdogjonx.gixxer.com/oscai.html That is the link

Enjoy.........

All Your Questions Be ANSWERED!

Yes I have had NO Loss in Torque ... and there is a HIGH chance its because of the Colder Ambient Temperature!

I would say the Cone Intake is Marginally Better than MY OSCAI!
BUT ... My OSCAI is Different than everyone Elses, and It Currently is STILL in my Car:

Picture Below:

I'm in the Process of Creating STAGE 2 ... Which will Incorporate BOTH the OSCAI and the CONE INTAKE!

More info when I'm done!

Its gonna be BEST of Both Worlds!!!

Wow, said you can definitely feel a better pull across the entire powerband, and even more in the high-end. (butt DYNO) That sounds like more than a marginal difference over OSCAI to me!!!

I’m really surprised a cone intake outperforms the OSCAI so much. I really thought the OSCAI was a good all-around package: extra power up high, no torque loss down low.

Hmmmmm….this is going to cost me.
