What is the mileage you got out of your Toyos?

Before having to replace them? I have almost 38K on mine. I seem to have developed this vibration since I had my rotors cut a second time. A rotate and balance did not cure the vibe. I feel it at almost all speeds and really seem to feel it when accelerating. The dealer said that in no way is the vibe related to the rotors being cut so the only thing I can think of is that tires have magically gone bad.

The tread still looks semi decent on my Toyos although the edges do look a little "rounder"...no more so when I brought it in though.

Mostly highway miles since 16k also.

I have over I say 30k miles on my Kumhos and I think I got about 10-15k more and they will also be Racing Slicks.

Quite frankly, anything over 15k on the Toyo Proxes AO5 Tires and you're asking for an accident, especially in the rain, when you need to make a good avoidance maneuver. Toyo makes some very impressive tires, and the Proxes H4 tires are actually a vast improvemnt over the sh!tty A05 series......

Those tires are a class action suit waiting to happen.....

be any worse than 15K plus Potenzas, especially in my 5 spd. Be very careful who you pull out in front of in the rain.

oooppsss...so maybe it is a coincidence then...then again maybe not...I mean..the ride was so great before he pulled the rotors off and cut em and now...

I guess I am pushing my luck at 37k+....mostly highway though...damn...is the Dunlop A2 Sport a good choice for a replacement?

I still think the tech screwed something up in the front end....tires don't go bad just taking them off and putting them back on.....but since they denied doing anything I guess I'm SOL

BS

If the car was fine before the rotor work do not let them off the hook. Obviuosly it was a direct correlation.

I have 20k miles on my proxes and they still handle perfectly.
Rain, snow, and dry pavement the ride quality and handleing hasn't degraded at all. but when they go I'm getting some BF Goodwrench Scorcher T/A tires in Blue.

Well when I had the rotors cut I don't imagine he rotated them....I did get a rotate and balance 4 days later and still have the vibration..I know he did take the rotors off to cut them instead of leaving them on the car like the TSB states too...I'm just wondering if he messed anything up putting them back on....is it possible to mess something up taking rotors off and putting them back on? I've never done it so I don't know what is involved.

Sometimes the vibe feels real strong and other times barely noticable...I wonder if it is the tires giving up the ghost....just seems weird they'd pick right after I had work done on the car but stranger things have happened.

I had the fact toyos up until i changed my wheels. that was at 29k. i would not have driven on them for many more miles at all. they were practically bald! I would drive the hard though ... only 2 rotates and alot of spinning.

With a tread wear of 250 a tire shop said 35K will be about all I can expect. I rotate every 7k Miles, so I hope to get 30K+ miles.
I have the stock 16" Toyos.

They really are screwing you. If they don't correct the problem soon I would press for them to fix it and replace the tires.

At about 25k my Toyos suddenly decided to give up all wet traction at once.....and while leasurely driving (g/f rips me a new one if I drive 3mph over the speed limit with her in the car) through one of my favorite turns, those #$%^ing Toyos decided that they were done.....two1/2 spins later we ended facing the other way in a ditch on the other side of the road. I didn't get any for two weeks......

I had a date end really quickly around my fast driving, excessive wheel spin, and her GD big mouth.

guess that'll learn ya to listen that GF of yours huh ...

In all actuality, I am on your side. Driving the max (at certain times) been almost a good as uhm, what you didn't get any of, and it is worth it sometimes to test the waters while the GF is in the car.
