Tranmisson noise

My trans has a spooling like noise when it shifts and seems to slip a little too. If i drive like granny it is still noisy. Any ideas? Loudest trans i have ever had.

Auto or manual?

If that's auto it definitely isn't right. Is this is a 2k, 2k1, 2k2, or 2k3? The slipping can just be an additional symptom on the noise, but the noise is something that is odd. Are you sure that noise isn't just the engine as the tranny slips?

A little more info, when I drive slow to normal trans is loud but shifts ok. When I put my foot in it even a little bit when it shifts 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd that's when the spooling comes in. No codes are shown. If it's not an easy or cheap fix I will probably sell it. Thanks for any help.

Honestly it sounds like a slipping transmission and the spooling is the engine....never heard of a transmission spooling.

I'd take it to a transmission shop and drive it around with someone to get their input.

Maybe OP exhaust system?

Transmission tech told me mine was minor but when you drive it onto the highway

vroom - shifts - vroomOOOOOOOOM - shifts - goes into OD

but when you watch the RPM meter it barely flares
