Car wash killed MAF help!!!

I feel like an idiot but I don't know what to do, I have a 2002 Nissan maxima se with 6 speed after market exhaust, cold air intake with no box it sits up behind the battery close to the hood! While going through a car wash I had to somewhat accelerate up into the entrance as I did so water shot up from the ground! My car died instantly but started back up! I continued the wash and noticed my car was dying ( Rps fluctuated between 0-1.5x1000 rpms then just died! I tried to start many times would sputter and emit black smoke from exhaust! I found no water in air filter tube and cleaned MAF with approved cleaner! I was told my car has automatic idle air learn! I Can't find used MAF that I can trust and a new one from Nissan is $700! I can't afford that. I pulled codes and got 3 different MAF codes plus two related to temperature! Active voltage to the MAF was at 31v (that normal?) any suggestions other than a $700 piece of OEM plastic will help! As today car idles fine with MAF installed but when going to drive and reach 2200 rpms vehicle shutters and acts like it's in limp mode CEL on and won't erase! Connections are good! I guess I already know the answer just hoping someone else has a better solution and more accurate information!

1. Purchase 2001 MAF for $77 here:
http://www.courtesyparts.com/22680-m...-p-193638.html

2. Follow directions to swap the thermistor from your 5.5gen MAF into the 2001 MAF, found here:
https://maxima.org/forums/5th-genera...-pictures.html

Otherwise, go drop a bunch of money on a new 5.5gen MAF from the dealer. I would take above route myself.
