cold natured

i have a 2000 SE and this is my 1st import car. i used to drive my z71 every day but now have 2 kids to take and pick up from school so i bought this from my stepdad about 1 year ago cause its easier to load kids in and its about 10mpg better than the truck. im having an issue in the cold weather. when i start the car in the morning it runs fine for about 1min then starts to die down kind of like it has a miss or something. this only happens when the temp is 32 and below other than that it runs fine. i have to rev it up to keep it running for about a min and then its fine. my question is are these cars cold natured or do i have a problem? this morning it died 2 times after running for about a minute and then it was fine oh and the service engine light comes on and then goes away in about 2 days. i havent had time to get the code read yet. any help will be appreciated.

No, they're not "cold natured" I don't think

Matter of fact, mine used to have this problem in extreme heat (95 degrees F or more) but worked perfectly in cold.

This is definitely a common issue on 5th gens, and usually has something to do with electrical. Could be grounding, or something like coolant sensor, cam sensor, etc.. For me, my issue went away completely after replacing a burnt cam sensor.

That is clearly the best idea. And when you have the code you can come back to us here and we can help more

Yeah, MAF is very likely. Make sure that your new one is OEM from Nissan because aftermarket does not work well. Get the 2001 MAF not the 2000, its a better upgraded part.

Not sure if you have EGR on your car but a clogged EGR valve or a vaacum leak can also set off that code.

well its not the MAF looks like the intake is leaking. we also noticed the rear valve cover was leaking oil perty bad. so he told me he would replace the intake gaskets and the valve cover gaskets for 275$.
