throws into limp with no codes

I have a 2002 maxima 6mt with 54000 miles. My maf went out on me so I went and for a new (not oem). I also gutted my cats and installed a brm 3" exhaust,an intake, and nwp bop

Long story short everyone I Rev up to vvt (4200rpm) it nosedives into limp mode. I can shut off the car for 30 seconds and it turns off limp mode. I'm confused because since I did alot that work the SE light hasn't turned on. ..even when it is in limp mode.any help is needed.

It's strange that your SE light is not on. However, the FSM lists five conditions that will trigger limp mode (see EC-125, this is for 2k max): a) Bad MAF, b) Engine coolant temperature sensor failure, c) Bad TPS, d) Bad Crankshaft Position Sensor (REF), and e) ECU failure. Conditions (a) and (b) are the most likely causes, at least IMHO. Re. your MAF, buy OEM only (from Courtesy parts).

I took the rear valve cover off for over a month and the cams were exposed. I cleaned them very well and flushed oil. The car has a hesitation if I Rev from idle btw. So I'm leaning towards tps. But I also unhooked the coolant lines to the tb so maybe something got in here?

Disconnected the coolant lines from the throttle body permanently as in bypass? Either way this wouldn't create your problem. This is an engine coolant line, so there is no connection into the air passage for the intake manifold.

It is same thing for the cams. Any dirt would end up in the oil and get trapped by the oil filter. Even if the dirt wasn't trapped by the filter, it would destroy the bearings and things, but wouldn't cause limp mode.

One thing you may want to check is the flexible tube between the MAF and the throttle valve body. If it cracked and is leaking air, this creates problems.

All piping to and from maf is solid metal piping. Hmm. It still worries me that is won't throw a code..

My old thermo resistor was bad and I decided to just get a new maf altogether. But the hesitation was there before too
