2003 Maxima bogging @ 4000-5000rpm

Before I start yes I have searched, and still the problem occurs.

I have a 03 Max with cattman headers, and a 2.5 exhaust. This problem only started recently, when WOT it will bogg/ misfire from 4000-5000rpm in only 2-6th gear. This does not occur in 1st.

So far I have changed all coils, spark plugs, maf and checked for vacumn leaks.

Just looking for new suggestions on what else to look at. I do have a code but that is for my ABS module

Thanks

How did the #5 cyl look? No cracked VC? MAF health OK? Mine did this when my MAF was on it's way out.

it has to be the MAF since that's a classic sign, do you have an engine check light on, if so, have it read and see what it comes up, if you get the typical code p0171 and p0174 together, that would be suspected as the MAF problem, since those codes indicate the o2 sensor respectively but when you get two codes set together, then MAF is usually the suspect.

No cracked valve cover. However coil 5 is not OEM its blue streak but its been in there for 2 months prior to this problem occuring. But I swapped mafs and the same issue occurs

No MAF codes and I swapped the MAF to a working MAF

I think this would be the MAF issue as this is the common issue for this symptom. I would only think that the misfire has to do with the o2 sensors most of the time in that particular bank of the cylinder of the engine and the injector in that part of the engine in on that bank. I would assume as the injectors and coils and plugs are fine as you have stated. I think one of the main common problems with the 3.5s are the vias solenoid, this can cause the car to act crazy sometimes. I would run the codes the abs light is another issue.

Update: Had the car on the hoist, and seen that one of my o2 wires had got ripped apart ( car is lowered ad my rear o2 harnesses are extended ). Going to swap both rear o2s and see if anything changes.

Aren't the rear just for monitoring though? Maybe the rip damaged electrics
