Different Codes----Different day ?

Hey Buds,
Previously mentioned that i had an issue with the 3.5 i35, failing to accelerate on Wednesday (but not completely)on I-95. Ran the codes and got p1574, and c1109. Suspect the alternator or cam sensor. (see here...)
Yesterday, i changed the "Spark Plug" on cylinder 6, cleared the codes and ran the car for a day.
Car ran Stronger with more Pep and drive.
"Today, i get check engine light."
I run over to the store, and the code reader from Advanced auto, says "c1109, and p0306."

???

P0306 is cylinder misfire. The car misses (sometimes) intermittently at a traffic Light....but runs strong on the road. 1109 is battery volt abnormal.

Confusing as hell ? ? ?

  • Anyone have "a clue" to what this could be?
  • Coils look new (i bought the car 6mths ago)
  • If it is the coil, is there anyway to check the coil (that is missing)?
  • Car only misses intermittently?

Thanks for any constructive input you can give.

You can check the FSM and follow guide on how to test coils... Maxima are oddly picky and if it is a ignition coil go OEM or Hitachi

Thanks George...unfortunately, i don't have the FSM.

Looks a little complicated to follow those steps....Wow!

Perhaps an investment with someone who REALLY KNOWS diagnostics would be worth it?

*Trouble is...different mechanics are giving me different info. Some even say "take it to the dealer"---which i refuse to do (*get raped).
