was thinking about trading in for a 6spd
I went to go test drive a 6 speed maxima last week and have to say that the car is disgustingly fast. i didn't break 5500rpm's and i managed to trash first gear, mangle second, and grab a 3rd gear "chirp". Oh my god, all those GT and Z28 owners would be fallin like flys if I wasnt't too upside down still to trade in. The sixer has soo much potential.....I can't wait....

I guess if you can afford to take the lose ($$$ wise, not car wise), then go ahead and trade in for a 2k2. I wish I would have waited (bought car in Dec. '00) for the 2k2 to come out, but I didn't know about it and I wasn't sure how much longer my '92 Escort was going to last (already at 120k w/ little repairs). Anyway, it sounds like the 2k2 is much more fun, so enjoy

Is it possible for a moded 5 speed AE to be as fast (or almost as fast) as a stock 6 Speed?
I don't think so but I could be wrong!

Yes. With full bolt ons not including sc or nos, the 5spd 2k1 or 2k will dyno more hp and be quicker than a 2k2 6spd stock.

That stinks....But I guess it would require alot of shoehorning and a change in the hood...Plus, that much power...Well, the Max already has a tough time with torque steer..
Thanks Russ for pointing that out!

Now I need to save for the Stillen supercharger and the Quaife HLSD.

I say if the $$ you have to pay is to much, go for the SC.
Depends what you want, do you really want a 2k2 or do you just want a faster car?

Me too!
I've only had my AE for a few months now (auto) and I totally have the 6-speed bug (well, any manual transmission for that matter). Can anyone that's traded up to the 2K2 share their experiences? How long did you keep your current Max, and what year was it? How much $$ did you lose out on?
AE:
Body kit
Pedals, door sills, bronze headlight assemblies, badging, etc.
2K2:
6-speed
255 hp
HID
I should have waited....

what it really is...
The thing that is really got me is the 6 speed, power is just a plus for me. $hit, give me a civic and a 5 speed and i will have fun and be hell on 4 wheels! for me it is the craving for a good double clutch, or that perfect launch, or the engine screaming like a banshee in in the middle of orgasm at the top of 3rd gear...(i'm getting all worked up thinking about it again...I need to stop) you guys get the point
