Knock Sensor Replacement

I need to replace the knock sensor (ks) in my 2000 Max. Where is it located? Is it a difficult fix? I already have the replacement ks.

my bad found out your car has swirl intake its different than a 1995 have to take the lower intake out. That requires someone with mechanic experience

So running premium or ultra plus would fix the issue entirely? Or would I have to consistently run the high octane fuel?

As far as the intake its on top of the motor but the knock sensor is at the bottom and in order to get to it you have to take the intake off, not something for a novice.

You can take of the intake box and look in there (and spend a lot of time working around the coolant pipe...), but yeah, might as well take off the whole intake LOL

Good luck on that, it's a B*TCH to do, and definitely have to remove your upper intake, and some hoses and a lot of bolts. if you are going to undertake this task, you will need to replace the intake manifold gasket because once you take it off, it's not reusable. I would do your home work before doing this job on your own, otherwise, leave it to a professional because it does take quite bit of time to just get one simple knock sensor.
