Blower motor noise ??

Blower motor noise. 2000 Maxima SE Auto 189k
When cold and heat is on the blower motor seems to make some noise on speed 1, 2 & 3. 4 seems fine. The blower works on all speeds. I can turn it to off then 1 or 2 a few times and it goes away. Bumps in the road can make it go off.
I pulled the blower out and clean it – leaves and found out that I never had a cabin filters in the car. Put the blower back in and it still made the noise.
Pull it out again and just hold the blower in my hand & moved it around. The blower ran fine, no noise at any speed. ??
There is some play if pull on the blower wheel. I did try to remove the wheel it will on come off. Tried turning the wheel it spins, seems to spin slow, some noise. I don't know what to expect never saw a new one.
Any thoughts on what’s wrong ?? Should I just replace the blower motor ?

THANKS

mine was the same way, i bought a replacement for like $40 on amazon. no problems since

re: the filter, i think some of the early 5gens were put together without the filter. i found the same thing when i was first investigating the blower. vacuumed all the leaves and crap out but didn't solve the noise. i added a filter the same time i replaced the motor.

Enough with the spam and dredging up old threads. You're burying current active threads with this crap. If these members haven't solved their problems after 7 months they're not going to.

Sorry about that. Just figured people still use the search function... and may see posts in the future. No need to post a new thread if you know how to search..

Yes, people do use search but dredging up masses of old threads causes several problems.

* It buries current active threads down to where they won't be seen and responded to. Most of us don't look more than 15 or 20 threads down because we know the flow of the site.

* It wastes members time if they're reading and responding to abandoned threads. Most people don't look at the start date of threads. Take a look at some of these threads. That's already happening.

* You're already making a name for yourself here. If you do comment on a new current thread, many members will see your name assume it's another dredged up spam thread and ignore it.
