so wanted to know where would i buy a shiftkit for my automatic 2003 amd who usually does this kind of work a mechanic or a transmission shop thank you.

 

Summit - JCWhitney - eBay - Amazon - Google. Where ever is cheapest at the time. When I picked up my trailing arm bushings, I actually found them cheapest at Autozone.

A GOOD and TRUSTED mechanic can do this. I prefer going to a known and trusted transmission shop. That's what they do constantly. My tranny shop did mine in about 4 hours as I recall.

Keep in mind that if you experience tremendously harsh shifts, your motor mounts are likely bad. Mine were shot and didn't know it. Thought I had made a HUGE mistake with the kit.

Fixed mounts. Best mod EVER!!

I would suggest the HD if you just want quick crisp shifts. The HD2 if you want bang type shifts. I have the HD, googled and bought the cheapest, about 50 bucks, I think.....took about 2 hours for me to install....I have a lift at home......I cheated.

Got the HD2 kit from Summit. Took the shop 4 hours to install. Shifts are super fast and firm. 500 bucks total for what is now my favorite mod.

Make sure you've got PUR or similar engine mounts. REALLy helps take the bang out.

 

Yes. At minimal go manual mounts (non-electronic) and a Wrayth torque mount. Will add some slight vibration but absolutely worth the added ability to increase the transfer of power to the wheels.

Avoid eBay mounts. I tore through the front manual ebay engine mount I got in less than a year running the HD2 kit and even with the Wrayth torque mount.
