02 Max....IAT sensor relocation?
02 Max....IAT sensor relocation?
So, today I was ******* the crap out of my car....I do it everywhere. Spraying 100 shot.....and it didn't feel as quick as usual..
I bust out the ol' cell phone datalogger, and fire up the Torque Pro app.
IAT's were 145ish, and the puter was pulling a ton of timing. Sooooo......now I need to relocate the IAT sensor so I can spray across it and get my timing back.
Anybody ever measure the stock sensor, and check resistance, quick link to purchase? Is it the same as the 3.0s so I can source a junkyard and wire it in.
Any savy guys in here know where the stock tune starts pulling timing at, and where it's null?
Any power adder guys will know exactly what I"m asking, I just don't want to waste time.....kinda new platform, and don't know the year interchangeability.

No Sir.....Intake Air Temperature add or subtracts timing accordingly. As does engine coolant temperature.....ECT..
You remove the sensor...thermistor.....from the stock mass air meter, and locate it up stream from your water/meth injection, or nitrous and then the computer "sees" the cooler "air" and adds timing accordingly. This is tuning at it's finest.
You tune the car with the nitrous, or for a boosted car, the meth.....you can add a **** ton of timing while the water/meth is flowing, and "see" it on the laptop. If the water/meth fails, the AIT sensor "sees" the hot air, and you can program how much timing to YANK and at what temperature. It's an aggressive way to tune, but it the fast way.
Since these 02-03 maxima's have the sensor in the Mass air meter, I must remove it because I don't want to spray nitrous across my meter. I will place the AIT sensor upstream and spray my nitrous between the Mass air meter, and the AIT sensor, so it "sees" my nitrous and adds my timing back.
Now, I know most of you don't understand why I would add timing, for nitrous....I would explain if anybody wants to know.....but the exhaust thread took a dookie.....don't want same here.
