The bore and stroke of the 3.0 and the 3.5 engines are different. The 3.0 has a shorter stroke so you would end up with lower compression (and less power) unless you got custom length connecting rods or higher crown pistons.

3.0 3.5 bore = 93.0 mm 95.5 mm stroke = 73.3 mm 81.4 mm
