Selling 2002, what's it worth?
Selling 2002, what's it worth?
Selling my 2002 SE, 84,000 miles. All options except NAV. Automatic, Sterling Mist, Original owner, non-smoker, never wrecked.
NADA and KBB are $2000 apart, one says $6500, the other says $4500. Can't believe it's only worth $4500 but people say I am asking too much at $6000.

I paid $5800 for mine from a dealership about three and a half years ago. There's no way you're going to get $6000. $4500 is probably closer for a private sale. Maybe as much as $5500 if it's truly mint.
Around here in SC they go anywhere from $1500 to $4500 running. Some people list their car based on book value and when you see it in person, its no where near that lol. One guy wanted 10K for an 03 SE that wasnt even fully loaded no sunroof nothing, just under 100K miles and no one bought it. Most private sellers list them around 2000 to 3500 in great condition.
Might be offtopic but think about what other cars can be bought for $$$$6,000
About $3,000 is a good price here I think.
Start and move from there.
Here's a cheap one in northridge.

Here's kind of an expensive one.
Typical that some guy who lowers and spray paints his rims black thinks it's a fast car
and worth that much.

If it has leather then i would not sell it for less than 7k. i'd try to get 8 out of it.
people will always pay top dollar for clean low mileage cheap to maintain reliable Japanese car. i wouldnt get into any of the above posted 200k german vehicles if u paid me to. good luck with maintenance on a $5,000 CL55 AMG with 160k. no one in the right mind will even think about touching that car.

Well, I'm in Canada so I don't know how much the value would change. Mine is a mint 2000 Max GLE with 90K miles, and a few nice upgrades. I'll be asking $7000! I'd say list on the high end, no harm in trying.
BTW...the best time to sell a car is during the Tax Refund Season.
Right now...why not Finance it to the Next Buyer
---or take trades
---or get 6k. Take $2500 down...finance the rest. Get a Mtg or Note for the diff.
