"Service engine soon" light problem finally fixed
My 2000 Max SE had been having a problem with the "service engine soon" light repeatedly coming on. The car has 44,000 miles on it but the problem began at about 15,000 mi. I had it back to the dealer 4 times and just to let everyone know, they finally diagnosed it. After the fourth time back, the dealer called Nissan tehnical and said the car needed a new cat converter and two new O2 sensors. They just completed the work this past week and the car runs great!!
So in case there is anyone out there with the same problem, I hope this helps. I had to be really persistent with the dealer about it but I finally got what I wanted. The cat is warranted for 80,000 miles. Kudos to Peruzzi Nissan in Fairless Hills, PA. and there Nissan service staff!!!

Do you know what code was pulled they have a TSB for a engine code that shows Code P0420. Which has to deal with the cat, but from what I understand there is computer program that they have to add if some of the fixes do not work. The error should show CAT readings low Bank1 or something like that.

That code that came up was PO420. But the three previous times I took the car in, they just tried to reprogram the ECU which never worked!
