My 2K2 6-speed HLSD is on the boat!!!

I got a call from my dealer earlier this week telling me that my 2K2 HLSD 6-speed (ordered on Nov 21st) is built and on it's way from Japan!!! He said that I should be expecting it on or about February 14th...

Just to refresh, here's exactly what I'm getting:

2K2 Maxima - 6-speed - Majestic Blue / Black Cloth
- Bose Audio System
- Meridian Edition
- Front Side-Impact Air Bags
- Power Glass Sunroof
- Helical Limited Slip Differential
- Carped Floor Mats
- Splash Guards (4-Piece)

I can't wait

Me too. Mine's also on the boat as well. Mine has everything but NAV. Merlot / Black leather 6 speed HLSD.

Wow -- That is exactly what I ordered in December - color/options everything identical. Unfortunately mine is not scheduled

So timing-wise, this means about 4 weeks shipment time after it is built? That means I won't see mine anytime before March, if even then...

Thanks for all of the positive comments

KTM, sounds like you and I think alike! Loaded minus leather and NAV (which requires leather). I've been a Honda only guy up until now, but because they don't offer a V6, manual trans, and cloth interior on any of their cars anymore (G2 Acura Legend was the last), I'm switching to the Maxima...

From what the dealer told me, they place the special orders at the beginning of each month... That means mine was placed in early December for January production. So if you placed yours later in the December, it should be a January order for February production with a March (hopefully) delivery. Hope that helps!

i ordered mine on november 29 and the dealer told me he'd be sending in his orders on dec 1. so HOPEFULLY my car is with your car. black and black. everything except nav. i think im going to mardi gras in 2 weeks so i was hoping to have my car before then but if my car is due the same time as yours it will be a week too late.

Just kickin' it around...

I'm thinking about just taking the plunge and getting either a Majestic Blue with Frost leather and a 6 speed (of course!!) Dunno...The problem I'm running into here (in STL) is that the dealers are marking it up to compensate for "market ajustment"..Ok, I can maybe see that on the Altima, but why on a Max? They're wanting $850 more-Do you think I can get it below sticker?? I'm doubting it, and I'm starting to think about just getting on from Canada. I mean, hell, it's cheaper and I know it'll have HLSD

Oh well...Confused again...

the dealers around me had a $1995 "adjuested mark-up" on all Maximas. just tell them its bullsh!t and argue with them. they'll probably throw it out.

So did they just throw the $1995 out, or did you get it below sticker as well?

That's great news. I hope you all get your cars soon. Mine was statused as "SEA TRANSIT" as of January 14th with an expected February 5th delivery. Black on Black leather, 6-speed, HLSD, everything (including Nav). The suspense is killing me.

well, i ended up buying the car from the dealer here at school. no added mark up here, really. i paid 4% above invoice. we're out in the middle of nowhere so i got a much better deal than i could have gotten at home (northern virginia).
but i can say that while we were negotiating with the dealers at home we got them to throw out the added mark up but we still couldnt get them down to where we wanted so thats why we left.

That's cool man..4% over is still very good. I think I'm actually going to take the Canadian route...So if anyone has done this also, post it or email me...I need details!

So this hlsd is important on the 6speeds? I am starting to lean towards a 6speed. Is this an option or std on newer production models? I would also guess it's clearly stated on the sticker that it's hlsd?

Ok-I see it's an option on the Nissan site. $399

My dealer gives me no info on the order process or timing, so thanks for the above.

Since it looks like I won't be getting mine for a while, I'll need you to provide regular updates on how much you are enjoying yours...

I'm not 100% certain, but Nissan seems to frown heavily on their dealers charging over MSRP. I'd suggest calling Nissan North America if the dealer is trying to charge you more than MSRP.

About $25k fully loaded (can't get Sunroof w/ cloth in Canada). But I'm buying my car in Canada so I'm working the system to save a crap load of cash.

Um, so is "fully loaded" not including leather or sunroof? What is fully loaded?

My total came out to $32245. That was everything included (taxes, title, tag, dealer set-up costs) That was based on $500 over invoice w/6spd, leather, meridian package, navigation, and HLSD. FULLY LOADED!

Fully loaded in Canada = everything you can get in the US except for NAV.

The owner of the dealer chain has been a friend of mine for over 7 years, so I know that I'm not getting any BS

As far as the price question goes, I'm paying $100 over the dealer cost of $26,196... If there are any rebates when I actually go to get the vehicle, those will apply as well

Congrats U guys

It's great your cars are on the boat, but I feel sorry for you that it takes so long.

I ordered mine (here in Canada) a few days before Christmas, and it was "on the boat" first week of January and on my driveway by the 3rd week of January.

I wonder why the US orders take so long?

I ordered mine in Canada also. Dealer told me the color I ordered (Merlot) held up my order. He ordered otherwise identical cars to mine and they arrived in the same time frame as yours.

That's cool. Hopefully I'll be getting mine within the next 2 weeks. Until then I'm stuck with what you see in my signature.
