Blower Motor Results
Haven't been on for a while, but thought I'd share a problem with the daughter's Max. She purchased the car (2000) in 2002 with 24k miles and now has 247k miles, great car, actually like new as no one else ever in the car, naturally a few problems over the period of ownership, but last week I took the car out after doing a few needed repairs and after about 2 minutes the fan shuts off, automatic climate control.
Checked all fuses then took the fan motor out, ran fine.
Removed the amplifier and check the ohms and only 1 reading. Ordered a new amplifier and when it arrived, installed.
No fan.
Checked the #2 wire at the amplifier with the ignition on and 9.26 volts on all fan speeds, which after reading various posts, leads me to be believe a fault with the control panel.
Problem was that OE amplifier tested bad, so thought it improbable that both the amplifier and control panel went south at the same time, so pulled the new out and in with the old. Same 9.26 volts at #2.
I noticed that when I installed the new unit, it was difficult to remove the connector, but just chalked it up to the inferior Chinese manufacturing process, but after removing the connector again, I noticed the #3 (ground) pin was slanted towards the outside of the case. Straightened it out, plugged it in and low and behold all fan speeds.
A happy daughter, just hope she decides to replace the car as I'm getting too old to do the maintenance.
***Forgot to add where the amplifier was purchased, so if anyone needs one, go to Rock Auto and they have 7 remaining @ $14.87 each, yup, $14.87, Ultra-Power RU633, same as Standard Motor Products RU633 $59.99***.

Nice work. The forum is a great place to help problem solve your car issues. And it looks like using the search function and reading old post really helped you out.
I recently had an issues with my automatic climate control on my 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE. The fan speed would only work on high. I couldn't get it work on low or medium settings. After researching the forum, I learned my Blower Motor Resistor was out. I replaced it with a new one from Partsgeek.com @ $89.33. I went with the OEM part, which was pricy, but I didn't want to take any chances since the summers here in Arkansas are unforgiving.
Glad to hear you fixed your daughters car and thanks for sharing.
