But would they have to let you make the first run without a helmet? I mean how else they gonna know if you can run below a 13.99?

I BELIEVE YOU CAN HIT 14.0 OR MAYBE 13'S with all your mods,
HECK, MY 2K2 AUTO CAN DO 14.69, but i cant ever hit that again , .501 R/T, my closest was 14.72, I need the frankencar.

If you are just going for 1/4 mile times, the R/T doesn't matter. Only when you are racing someone else does the R/T matter because you are racing each other and the first person across wins. But if you are just going for the 1/4 mile time and not racing someone else, the R/T doesn't matter, so the 1/4 mile times should be comparable.

ok....im not a track person, but so does that mean that the clock doesnt start until u actually start moving? so if ur tracking your own time only.......then the R/T doesnt matter at all? meaning that if someone ran a 14.3 with a .900 R/T, and later had an R/T of .500 their time would still be 14.3? please clarify....i dono much about the track sorry.

That's an awsome time. I'm still having a hard time comprehending Max's running low 14's stock. That's Audi S4 times. My neighbor has one (auto). He bought an engine chip and trans chip and still only ran 14.8. Think he need to break it in more. Only had a few miles on it. Anyhow, I think I'll wig him out if I beat him. That is, if I buy one soon. Wow!

damn you, your .007 seconds faster then me, i'm getting a dark blue helmet to match my car. i dont' know how i launched the car either, but i got massive wheel hop, ask anyone who was there, they thought my bumper was gonna hit the ground but i hooked up and took off. once i get a exhaust i should be in hte 13's oin a good day. first thing to do is get better tires and run at like 20psi in the fronts and 40 psi in the back. take out the spare and run on a 1/4 tank

Yeah. I'll end up being the slowest of the group. No intake, no VB mod (not sure yet), no nothing.

Then again that'd make a good 1/4 comparison dontcha think?

At least we don't have there engine problems the 3.5L has been having. Hit the limiter, it goes into fail safe mode. Oil issues, starting problems, and many other issues combined between here and the Altima board. 3.0 VQ still is the best for reliability in my book.

We do? I mean have those problems?

I should be thankful then. 5k so far and nothing seems to be failing. Hit the rev limiter once without a problem. I was cruising at like 5-10mph on 3rd when i downshifted the auto to 1st thinking i was in 2nd gear all the time. Let's just say i overextended my stay at 1st

Btw, can you PM me more info about those oil issues? Thanks.

From the threads on the "launch" issue, it seems that an Automagic launch should be just leave it in 3rd and nail it. Maybe a little brake/rev to start? Suggestions? Where is Kev?

If you can manage it, manually shift to get the optimum power. Given our stuff starts losing power in the higher rpm range it's best to shift around 3-500rpm before the power starts to decline. The 3-500rpm delay before the tranny actually shifts will put it right at the start of the downward slope in the hp/torque curve.

Torque-braking also helps with the launch. Problem is, can our stock Potenza's grip?
