Custom Sub Box in my 2k2

For those interested in doing a custom box for their 2k2, check this out. I have had it since November, but never posted pics. Its over the top for some and not enough for others..I like it though and it sounds good.

That looks like you ate up quite an amount of trunk space on the right. Is that real or am i just imagining it?

Looks good though! I like how you have opposite facing subs

I value trunkspace (And weight savings) so i'm getting a Basslink hehehe.

I like it to what you got 10'sor 12's. Also how do you get to your jack did you move it? Doesn't take much space up.

Two 10"s. I did loose space and moved the jack down next to the spare, which is fully accessible. The hinge clearance is real tight, but does not rub. In hindsight, I would have used different subs. Their ohm rating is not the most efficient usage of the amp, regardless of how I wire them. The best part is the box only cost me $100.00 to build (not including subs).

Yep you used fiberglass, I have done alot of work with fiberglass. I have also worked on David Dixon's ford 350 Super Duty, and Chris Carrs Yukon Denali with 4 12's rockford power sub's the chrome ones. Fiberglass is the best because it's cheap and it's tough depending on how many layers. Would of looked better if gelcoated it to match your Max.

Sorry so long to reply, but...Not free airsubs. They sound great, although I am only running 1/2 power off my amp.
Actually, the box is MDF...but, we shaped the edges with fiberglass to give it a nice rounded look that fit well in the trunk, sanded everything and covered it up. It took a lot of trial and error. I could sell it if someone is interested.

Thanks. Color..that is the closest I could find at the upholstery shop. Actually, it is pretty d@mn close in person. Everyone that has seen it, likes it. I will have it out for the races Friday, so maybe I can take some pics of the box out of the car.

I've seen this thing, its not for the timid thats for sure. I like the design and it's very unique. Definately takes up your trunk space, but if this was all about being conservative and thrify, we wouldn't be here.
