Went to the track for the first time.....

Just came back form Atco raceway. Got in 4 runs. 7 Maximas were represented, and 5 raced. Here are my times...

1st run
R/T: 1.376
60': 2.56
330': 6.929
1/8: 10.437
MPH: 70.72
990': 13.359
1/4: 16.003
MPH: 88.01

2nd run
R/T: 1.128
60': 2.39
330': 6.705
1/8: 10.188
MPH: 71.21
990': 13.097
1/4: 15.728
MPH: 88.62

3rd run (manually shifting)
R/T: .815
60': 2.420
330': 6.657
1/8: 10.079
MPH: 72.18
990': 12.928
1/4: 15.503
MPH: 90.55

4th run (manually shifting)
R/T: .739
60': 2.439
330': 6.704
1/8: 10.146
MPH: 71.86
990': 13.008
1/4: 15.596
MPH: 90.06

I also have a question, does the clock start running when the light turns green, or when you cross the line?

when u cross the line! reaction time has nothing to do with ur e/t in the 1/4 mile only when u r bracket racing will it matter!!! u can sit there for 10sec and then go and u will sitll run the same time as u would if u went on the 3rd yellow!

will

once you move.

You could sit there for half an hour, and leave and still do a 9 second pass. Of course, you'd have a HORRIBLE RT.

RT is the only thing that goes while you are at the line and don't move.

Good runs, get those RTs down and those 60' with them and you should have a quick car!

i'm still trying to get a higher trap than 93mph (some say it's a high 14sec car)...?

Gotta work on getting my launches consistent and finding the "sweet" spot.

well..my best reaction time was .43.
i normally rev up the motor to about 1,400-1,500rpm and dump the clutch..any higher than this, i'd smoke my tires too badly..any lower..well..u'd stall..
my best run so far is a 15.1 run with intake and y-pipe..and a horrible horrible launch(this time, i dropped my clutch at almost 2k rpm)...

was this on a pro-tree? sportsman tree will have you redlighted with a .430.

.500 is perfect for Sportsman (individual ambers)
.400 is perfect for Pro-Tree (all three ambers, then green).

I would think that a Y-pipe would help you a lot, and even though I have one on my car, do you guys have to worry about emission testing, or clearance of speed bumps!? Just something to think about, these are issues that I am dealing with right now. I am actually going to put my stock springs back on to lift my car back up 1.5-inches so I don't scrape my $1500 exhaust system over any more tall speed bumps!

Please note I drive a Camaro though, so clearance is probably more of an issue for me.
