Strange Part Under the Hood

Can anyone identify this piece that is connected to the engine? it runs about a foot and a half away, and i noticed it just sitting under the hood. No mechanical issues that seem to be the cause of it. Part says

"Bridgestone"

has a small metal connecting piece on the back, but i dont see where i could put it

That's the top pf the old electronic motor mount. Automatic tranny right?

It was probably replaced with a solid mount at some time. You may find another one near the firewall side of the engine as well.

Unplug it and get it out of there. There are stories of those frying the ECU but I don't know specifics. I'd strongly recommend getting it out of there and seeing it the other one for the rear mount is in there too.

LOL, they replaced the mount, but left it plugged in?

i don't think that's the motor mount. there is a similar colored mount plug in that same area but i'm pretty sure it's smaller in size. i have that connector attached under my hood (my mounts for sure are disconnected) and it runs somewhere near the wheel well (i didn't follow it fully)

I can assure you that piece that says "Bridgestone" is part of the mount. I swapped my wifes mounts earlier this year and still have the exact piece sitting in my discarded parts pile.

I wouldn't have had a clue if I hadn't just worked on them.
