Megan Racing Mufflers

Alright so I've already got a Y-pipe, and 2.5" piping down to my stock muffler. I want to get the Megan Racing Muffler but obviously don't need all the piping.

I was thinking about getting this megan racing muffler here..

but will I receive the same results from this megan racing muffler? Are they even the same?

Mufflers look slightly different in both shape and tip placement but the end result should be similar. Depends on what size resonator you have (if any).

I have the muffler in your first link on my 93 maxima. There are two designs and either stainless or flat black with stainless tips. I absolutely love mine. Very close to stock tip design and a great sound.

The difference in the two designs is that the smaller one has less packing allowing for a higher tone and the second one you posted is a larger design more packing deeper tone

Alrighty new dilemma sorry for the bump.
- I already ordered a magnaflow 14816 exhaust but it has 2.25" inlet.
- My piping is 2.5"

Will I lose any kind of performance? Would an exhaust shop be able to stretch out the magnaflow to 2.5" and if they did would I still lose anything?

Should I just go with the megan racing muffler that already has 2.5"?

I went ahead and got the Megan racing muffler with 2.5" inlet for my 2001 maxima but I no longer have the car.

So I got a 2002 and was wondering if I would lose any kind of performance if I went ahead and did a custom 3" pipe with the 2.5" megan racing muffler.

I was thinking I could gain more low end power with the 2.5" muffler than a 3" muffler. But what do I know.
