Always drive with headlights on?

How many of you guys drive with your headlights on during the day? I use my parking lights as to not prematurely wear out the HIDs and ballasts. They aren't super bright obviously but at least I increase my visibility to other drivers to a degree.

I frequently drive with my headlights on, or at least my drivers. In the year and a half I've only had to replace my headlights and they were dim when I bought the car.

I use to, rigged the auto lights to stay on during the day, now it's just rain and nighttime for me.

I frequently do. Unless it's super sunny. There's so many awful drivers out there, if keeping them on even slightly increases my chances of not getting hit, to me that's worth whatever minimal cost there is.

I have my fogs rewired so they're my DRLs. I shut them off at night unless there's inclement weather.

i figure buying new HID bulb or two from using a lil more than normal, is way less expensive than an accident with some crappy driver not seeing you with no lights on or baby DRL's , i rewired fogs and that is a nice balance of having more light and saving HID's in non typical HID operating hours of the day time.

How does one go about rewiring their fogs to work with DRLs? Is there a write up on the forums somewhere?

Here's the write-up I used to rewire the fogs to come on with the parking lights: http://www.shiftice.com/fog_rewire.html

I imagine you can use this as a guide. In order to rewire them to come on as DRLs (and not with parking lights), you can use a 4-pin or 5-pin relay and trigger it with a tap fuse that is energized when the key is in 'acc' or 'on.'

This is just one method. I'm sure others can chime in on how they did it.

overthinking, simply wiring the fogs with the parking lights is the same as wiriing with the DRL's because the DRL's come on with the parking lights.

Gotcha. My '00 has no DRLs so I was basically letting him know of a way to make his car have the fog lights as DRLs in case it does not have that feature as OEM.

I didn't know that some max's had DRLs come on with the parking lots. Good to know!
