Do you have to remove timing cover in order to get to freeze plug? 2000 Maxima.

Do you have to remove timing cover in order to get to freeze plug? 2000 Maxima.
Getting ready to change a bad freeze plug on the max, its next to alternator and water pump, think i might have to remove timing cover in order to get to? Any advice is appreciated.
