'01 Maxima trouble starting while warm (Videos)
Hello,
This is my first post on this site, and I'm hoping some people will have some tips for me. I've looked around the forums for similar problems, but I haven't seen any solutions.
I have a 2001 Maxima SE (automatic) with about 160k miles. When I try to start it cold in the morning, it starts beautifully. When I am done with work 10 hours later, it starts beautifully (and no issues while driving). However, when I leave the car for between 30 minutes to a couple of hours, it has trouble starting. It feels like the engine is going through "cycles" trying to start, and after a few cycles it will start.
I have replaced the fuel pump and filter, as well as 1 coil. Here is a video that I did not take, but it sounds pretty similar:
Here is a video of what it DOES NOT sound like, but hopefully it clarifies my sound a little bit:
Anybody have the same problem? Thanks!!

Thanks for the quick reply.
This has been happening since before the coil was replaced, and the only codes at that point was for the coil and apparently the cat. converter. No other codes than that.

Did you use an oem coil when you replaced the original if not that could be the issue. A quick way to check if maybe you have a faulty coil is to one at a time pull the connector off and see if the cars idle changes. If it doesn't then you've found a bad coil.
